Checklist
  1. Has the excavation work been properly planned, including plant access, spoil placement, and temporary works requirements?
  2. Are current RAMS and Permits to Dig in place, briefed, and understood by the workforce?
  3. Have underground and overhead services been identified, located, proven, and clearly marked?
  4. Has the excavation been assessed for impacts on nearby structures, services, or ground stability?
  5. Is the excavation included within the Temporary Works process and inspected by a competent person?
  6. Have rescue arrangements and emergency procedures been considered where required?
  7. Are suitable controls in place for changing or unforeseen ground conditions?
  8. Are trained banksmen in place where required during excavation activities?
  9. Are spoil, materials, and plant positioned safely away from excavation edges?
  10. Are atmospheric monitoring and confined space controls in place where required?
  11. Is the excavation adequately signed, guarded, and protected from unauthorised access?
  12. Are excavation faces appropriately supported, battered back, or protected against collapse?
  13. Are safe access and egress arrangements in place, including suitable ladders or access systems?
  14. Are barriers and edge protection in place to prevent falls into the excavation?
  15. Is the excavation free from excessive water and are pumping arrangements controlled appropriately?
  16. Are exposed services adequately protected and supported throughout the works?
